Product name: 2,4,6-Trinitrotoluene

Molecular formula: C₆H₂CH₃(NO₂)₃

Property:

It is a light yellow to yellow flakes, toxic and nonhygroscopic, but slightly soluble in water. It is soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol, ether, acetone, benzene and toluene. It reacts with alkalis to give a sensitive organic metallic compound. It is heat-resistance, and decomposes significantly at 160 'C , and fires at about 300'C.
